Tayvian at the Imaginarium in Ft Myers, Florida
I can't believe it is August already. Jim & I had a chance to take our grandson, Tayvian, with us on our most recent trip to Florida over the Fourth of July holiday. He definitely brought some new energy to our quiet Florida neighborhood. One day, we noticed a dog had been hit by a car just down the street so Tayvian had to go check it out. When he returned, we asked him if the dog was OK. He told us "he's still alive, but he's seriously injured!" Sounded very adult coming from this little 5-year-old. Another night, our neighbor was out fishing in the pond behind our homes. Tayvian & I went out to talk to him and were introduced to "Bob the Alligator." He is 3 feet long and lives in the pond. Apparently, he enjoys our neighbor's company or is hoping he'll share his catch because he always sits at his feet while he fishes. The best though was when I took him to the driving range. It was starting to get late and the bugs were really making noise. Finally, Tayvian looks up and says "Seriously, Mother Nature? Can't you see I'm trying to swing?" Sometimes you wonder what kids are thinking and other times, well, they just tell you!
For all of you with children at home, you may be looking forward to getting back to the structure of the school year. For the teachers and administrators, you may not be quite as anxious, but we do appreciate what you do for our children every day. We are wrapping up our school supply drive for the Tennyson Center for Children. We have decided to extend the collection one more week so if you have some items you would like to donate, please contact Jan at 303-232-3100 or firstname.lastname@example.org by August 10th.
We have been using our new newsletter format for 6 months now and wanted to take a chance to check in with our customers. We tried to keep it simple, just 8 questions. We would really appreciate you taking 5 minutes to complete the survey to let us know how we are doing.
We hope all of you have a chance to enjoy the final month of summer. Be safe as you take those final hikes, ATV rides, cruises on the lake, or road trips. It seems like summer finally just arrived and now we are going to have to start thinking about the first snowfall. Even so, Colorado is one of the best places to live and we are glad to be here!
