Lori has been making this breakfast pizza for her family for a few years now and wanted to share it with you. It is from one of her trusty Southern Living cookbooks. Maybe you can start a new Christmas morning tradition at your home. To save time in the morning, you can complete several steps the night before.
Ingredients: - 1 (8oz) can refrigerated crescent rolls - 1 lb. hot ground pork sausage - 1 (28oz) package frozen hash browns with onions & peppers - 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese - 4 large eggs - 1/2 c. milk - 1 tsp. salt - 1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
Prepare Ahead: Unroll crescent roll dough and press on bottom and partially up sides of a 9x13 baking dish or 12in deep-dish pizza pan. Press perforations to seal. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes.
Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring until sausage crumbles and is no longer pink. Drain well and sprinkle evenly over crust.
Prepare frozen hash browns according to package directions and spoon evenly over sausage. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. Cover and chill up to 24 hours, if desired.
Finish in Morning: Whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour evenly over shredded cheese. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until set.
