Spotlight on Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk
By: Jan Buscher | July 23, 2015
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the largest voluntary cancer research agency specifically focused on finding cures and better treatments for blood cancer patients. Through the Light the Night Walk, they are able to raise money to fund this research and ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.
Lori & Jim first walked at Light the Night in 2012 when they joined their friends on a team after a close friend, Chris, had been diagnosed with Leukemia. They have continued to walk in his memory the last couple years. Blood cancers have once again hit close to home recently when Jan’s father was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia in December of 2014. Then in March of 2015, her oldest brother was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, another blood cancer. Both are continuing to receive treatments and are benefiting from the research that has been done on these cancers.
We have decided that it is time to sponsor our own team at this year’s Light the Night Walk. We would be honored if you joined us in this wonderful cause. The walk is on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Washington Park in Denver. You can register to walk on our team or make a donation at our team site: http://pages.lightthenight.org/rm/DenverL15/InsplaceforLLS. Please feel free to contact Jan with any questions by calling 303-232-3100 or emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your support!
