Along with all of you, we were heartbroken to see the fires spreading across our state this month. While the devastation of the homes lost is difficult to see, it was the loss of human life that really hit home. Lyle and Marylin Hileman had been friends and clients for many years. We send our prayers and condolences to all of their family and hope their wonderful memories bring them comfort during this terrible time.
The first weekend in October, I took a trip back to my home state of South Dakota. It was a fun weekend reconnecting with food, games and laughs with childhood girlfriends. We spent time at a peaceful cabin on a lake on the SD/MN border where we didn’t have even the connection for the TV. Seems her husband didn’t leave it behind! We first went to Mitchell where we grew up and of course had to make a stop at the Corn Palace, which is what this town is famous for! Also had a chance to visit the cemeteries where we have parents buried. In Sioux Falls, we visited their famous falls area with the Big Sioux River. All in all, it was a nice time away from the everyday routine.
Here we are again after another end to daylight savings time. The Broncos game wasn’t even over before it was dark outside yesterday. Hopefully the adjustment doesn’t throw your week off too much.
We hope you have a chance to enjoy the nice fall weather this week. Don’t forget to Vote!
